I work from a home office and bought these bookends to support a few "resource" binders that I use throughout the day. I based my decision on the product's height, weight, and design. The bookends are perfect for my needs. They are heavy enough to hold the binders securely in place and do not slip or slide when I remove one of the binders. The marbling is just beautiful and I love the way the bookends look on my desk. Very eye appealing.

These slightly larger bookends were perfect for my need -- securing a set of large, heavy books including a dictionary and single-volume encyclopedia. Best of all, the marble of the pair I received really does look better than the set in the advertisement.
